In our case, collections are issues/volumes. It would be great to have an option that says "wand to read the whole issue, dowload here: (link to external download, cf Link button in the download box)

Great thought. We’re about to launch a new tool for managing collections. That seems like a natural place to put this. Would love your thoughts there once collections are out.
